Hawaiian Roll French Toast
Ingredients:
12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
4 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/4 cup vanilla coffee creamer
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons butter
Maple syrup, for serving
Fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
Make the Custard:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, coffee creamer, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
Dip the Rolls:
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Allow it to melt and coat the surface evenly.
Working in batches, dip each roll half into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not overly soaked. Let any excess custard drip off.
Cook the French Toast:
Place the dipped rolls onto the hot skillet or griddle. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Add more butter to the skillet as needed for additional batches.
Serve:
Arrange the French toast rolls on a serving platter.
Serve warm with maple syrup and any additional toppings like fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or whipped cream.
