Airfryer Honey Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 lemon)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • Lemon slices and fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, lemon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and smoked paprika.

  2. Marinate the Chicken:

    • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.

    • Place the chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish.

    • Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.

    • Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  3. Preheat the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

  4. Cook the Chicken:

    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with a little olive oil or non-stick spray.

    • Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, skin side down. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.

    • Air fry the chicken thighs at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.

    • After 10 minutes, flip the chicken thighs so the skin side is up. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and golden brown.

  5. Make Sauce:

    • Add 2 tablespoons of butter to a sauce pan

    • Once melted add honey

  6. Serve:

    • Remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes.

    • Garnish with lemon slices and fresh parsley if desired.

    • Serve hot with your favorite sides.
