Airfryer Honey Lemon Pepper Chicken Thighs
Ingredients:
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
Lemon slices and fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, lemon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and smoked paprika.
Marinate the Chicken:
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
Place the chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish.
Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cook the Chicken:
Lightly grease the air fryer basket with a little olive oil or non-stick spray.
Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, skin side down. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry the chicken thighs at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, flip the chicken thighs so the skin side is up. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and golden brown.
Make Sauce:
Add 2 tablespoons of butter to a sauce pan
Once melted add honey
Serve:
Remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with lemon slices and fresh parsley if desired.
Serve hot with your favorite sides.
